Brother DCP-8040 D Laser Toner Cartridges
By adding a duplexer, the Brother DCP-8040D became the upgraded version of its base model DCP-8040. This model is also an MFC monochrome laserjet but still with no networking support, only USB and parallel ports. Specs and features are basically the same with the base model. Paper handling is fixed to hold 250 sheets of plain media. The housing is like a mirror image of the previous DCP models with slim body and a wider top to accommodate the space for a flatbed scanner and feeder.
The DCP-8040D has a quoted print speed of 21ppm (pages per minute) and can deliver of par printout quality. It makes use of the same cartridges such as the TN540 black toner and TN570 toner cartridge. Its Brother laser drum unit has model number DR510 with 20,000 page capacity. CNET actually gave it a 3.5 rating out 5 star considering its print/copy speed, low market price, clear text results, and user friendly interface.
