The Brother HL-660 Monochrome personal printer has a very typical design and built, similar to its predecessor models. It has this off-white colored chassis, fax-style built, paper input feeder at its back, and a parallel interface. It was built entirely for small offices with such low printing needs. Basically it is small that users can even place it in a corner, and light, weighing approximately 16lbs. Plus considering its only consumable which is the Brother black toner, cost per page may be a little reasonable for a personal printer.
Just like the Brother HL-645M, an old model from the HL Series, this machine also has the same set of interfaces such as the parallel and serial ports. There is no USB host or any option to connect the printer to a computer, unless you use a USB adapter. Its memory ranges from 2-10 MB, while its main input tray can only hold 200 sheets of paper while the output tray is limited to only 50 sheets. For the consumables, the HL-660 works with Brother TN100 black toner cartridge at 3,000 page yield. Although it has a decent paper capacity, it is only intended for printing alone, no copy, scan or fax functionality.
