Canon LaserCLASS 5000 Laser Toner Cartridges
If it’s not for this printer’s compact built and very low upfront price, the Canon LaserCLASS 5000 could be a difficult monochrome laser model to recommend. The unit is basically slow both in transmission and printing speed. It has a rated print engine capable of 6 pages per minute and 300 dpi resolution. Although it can’t print with 600 dpi resolution, you’ll have to sacrifice almost half of its speed, so bad idea. Its control panel features a mono, one-line LCD that can display limited information but nonetheless useful. If cost-per-page is important for you as its Canon FX2 black toner cartridge works with toner-saving mode which reduces printing cost to an absolute minimum.
The Canon LaserCLASS 5000 is not just a simple printer, it’s also capable of copying and faxing, but lacks a flatbed scanner. The unit’s document sheet feeder does not support thick media and is limited to paper sizes and type that can fit through it. Unlike most of the other printer models in the same series, this one may not be considered as a dedicated fax laser. First it doesn’t support Super G3, can only transmit at 14 Kbps, plus there’s no corded handset included. Over its competition, aside from below average print quality that it can provide, there’s nothing more to mention.
